Childcare Based on Love & Research

The Nature part of NANA comes from our perfect country location that we can’t wait to share with you! We have access to cats, dogs, goats, chickens, cows, pigs and horses. The children will learn about animals and help care for the pets by doing things like collecting the chicken eggs, grooming horses and going for horseback rides.

The inside of the house is over 5000 sq ft and includes a play and learning room as well as an entire room devoted to books we call the library. The children will be around the kitchen quite a bit making their own meals and snacks. We strive to eat organic healthy meals when possible.

Overall, the environment we have created is a home away from home. Nature and Nurture Academy will be a place your children look forward to coming to everyday.

Please call to schedule a tour of our home and to talk further about our services. Availability is based on a first come first serve basis as well as an interview process. We have limited slots available because we want to keep our child to caregiver ratio low to allow for more one on one meaningful interactions.

We are a small at home daycare and we believe in creating life long learners! Our target age is 2-6 years old (pre-kindergarten) but are more than happy to welcome any age based on availability. Our approach is scientifically based on brain development and is research proven.

We have built NANA around 5 main policies:

  • Foster giving and gratitude: Kids naturally have the “it’s all about me” attitude, part of it is their age but part of it is their life experiences. Good habits are formed when we are young and we believe in encouraging children to be kind, appreciative, grateful and thankful with various daily activities and songs. We believe in paying it forward and teaching kids to do the same. Thank you notes, drawings, ways to creatively express how thankful you are someone…. even breaking out into song makes people feel appreciated. We teach kids how good it feels to give.

  • Facing Adversity: As a parent it is hard to watch your kid struggle or feel disappointed. Giving children the toolset to be able to pick themselves up and dust themselves off is what we do with loving encouragement. Tenacity is one of the biggest indicators of success in life. Kids are perfectly capable of doing things for themselves; in fact, that’s how they learn! At NANA we delight in watching kids learn and master their own independence while we cheer them on from the sidelines. The joy and pride they have in themselves is so fulfilling!! It’s honestly what makes our day.

  • Personal responsibility: This includes taking care of our things, our behavior in how we treat others, how we treat the environment and teaching kids’ honesty is always the best policy. Kids will learn to tame their temper tantrums and emotional outbursts through mindful meditation, yoga and learning how to voice their concerns in an appropriate manner.

  • Positivity: We don’t offer continuous praise but encouragement for children to do their best and work hard. We focus on the journey not the end result. We want kids to be proud of themselves and for that to drive their motivation. We also subscribe to the Growth Mindset and all of its principles.

  • Involve families: Please always feel free to come volunteer for the day, a few hours or even to stop by for a delicious meal prepared by your kiddo! We will send weekly updates on your child, photos and keep in constant communication. It takes a village. We want your child to feel loved and supported wherever they are.
